The Brick Warehouse Corp. (Toronto), Canada's largest big-box home goods store, has announced an agreement with InterTAN Inc. (Toronto) to integrate RadioShack concept shops into its 63-store chain. The retailer sells furniture, larger home electronics and appliances in big-box formats throughout Canada.
The five-year agreement will start with a minimum of eight locations in the Greater Toronto Area this calendar year, with expansion opportunities to most or all of the Brick's superstore outlets across the country. The RadioShack footprint will be at least 1000 square feet, and will be operated by the Brick.
The agreement also features reciprocal advertising and marketing of each other's locations and product offerings. The RadioShack product assortment of smaller electronic products and accessories is considered a logical line extension from The Brick's furniture, appliances and bigger screen/home theater products.
InterTAN, Inc., operates through approximately 880 company retail stores and dealer outlets in Canada under the trade names RadioShack and Rogers AT&T Wireless Communications Express.
