Reebok Laying Off 150 Employees

Reebok (Boston) is reportedly laying off 150 employees, mostly at its Boston headquarters, according to Retail Dive and The Boston Globe, which broke the story.

The layoffs are part of a restructuring plan related to the shoe retailer being acquired by Authentic Brands Group (New York) for $2.46 billion this past August. The layoffs will be in effect the first quarter of 2022 when the acquisition is made official.

In a statement regarding the layoffs, Reebok said: “Last week, in preparation for a new operating model, we announced a restructure of our organization, which will impact a number of employees at our Boston headquarters … We want to sincerely thank these employees for their years of service and dedication to Reebok. We will share more details about the future of the organization after the sale process is complete.”
