Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI, Kent, Wash.) will open a new store in Greenville, S.C. this fall. The one-story, 22,000 square-foot location will offer outdoor gear and clothing as well as a bike shop and a seasonal gear rental department for customers looking to test new activities. A community space for REI and its local partners will be available to hold outdoor-related classes, presentations and events.

“With easy access to the Appalachians and a community of people who love outdoor activities, Greenville is a natural match for REI,” says Gail Kirkland, REI retail director for the South district.

REI operates 114 retail stores nationwide and plans to open eight new stores by the end of the year.
