Pet Supermarket (Sunrise, Florida), a pet retail chain, has hired Nina Love as its director of store operations.

Shopko Stores Operating Co. (Green Bay, Wis.), a department store chain, has promoted Jeff Csuy to senior vp/gmm of apparel and accessories

Bulbrite (Moonachie, N.J.), a lighting manufacturer and supplier, has promoted Kathy Choi to president and named former president Andrew Choi chairman.

STORE OPENINGS

hhgregg(Indianapolis), a retailer of consumer electronics and home appliances, has opened new stores in Memphis, Tenn., and South Haven, Miss.

Pussy & Pooch (Los Angeles), a pet boutique, has opened its second locale, in Long Beach, Calif.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

REI (Seattle), an outdoor gear and clothing retail cooperative, won LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its stores in Round Rock, Texas, and Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Staples (Framingham, Mass.), an office supply retailer, received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its store in Roslindale, Mass.

Wilsonart (Temple, Texas), a manufacturer of decorative surfacing products, has launched a sustainability website that gives information about the environmental impact of its products and processes.

Laser Excel (Green Lake, Wis.), a laser cutting and plastic fabrication specialist, has created a new Plastic Services division following its acquisition of Plastic Services Inc. (Hartland, Wis.).

AWARDS

DisplayPlan (Chicago), a member of the Leggett & Platt Display Group that provides permanent in-store display and merchandising solutions, won two Design of the Times Gold awards for its F.U.R. (Front-Up Roller) shelving system.

OfficeMax (Naperville, Ill.) announced that its ceo, Sam Duncan, received the CEO Diversity Leadership Award from Diversity Best Practices.
