Right Path for Rite Aid

Rite Aid Corp. (Camp Hill, Pa.) has announced plans to open 125 new and relocated stores in 2008. The growth is part of an expansion plan that calls for nearly 1000 stores over the next five years.

The nation’s third-largest drugstore chain is in the process of acquiring more than 1800 Brooks and Eckerd stores from The Jean Coutu Group (Longueuil, Que.) in a deal worth more than $3 billion.
