In its first expansion initiative since being acquired in November 2006, specialty retailer Eddie Bauer (Redmond, Wash.) has announced two new Colorado locations, in Boulder and at The Shops at Northfield Stapleton, in the Denver area.

The Boulder store, in the Twenty-Ninth Street district, is expected to open on April 6, 2007. The 5368-square-foot store will be centrally located on 29th Street between Canyon and Walnut streets. The 5500-square-foot Northfield Stapleton store will be located near Foleys at the north end of The Shops at Northfield Stapleton. It is also planned for an April 6 opening.

In November, Eddie B Holding Corp., a company owned by affiliates of Sun Capital Partners Inc. and Golden Gate Capital, agreed to acquire Eddie Bauer for about $614 million. Sun Capital owns equity in Mervyn's, Shopko Stores, Lillian Vernon, Marsh Supermarkets, Anchor Blue Retail Group, Dim Branded Apparel and Most.
