Safeway to Sell Three Genuardi's Stores

Safeway Inc. (Pleasanton, Calif.) has reached a definitive agreement to sell three of its Genuardi's stores in Pennsylvania to Weis Markets Inc. Safeway will continue to operate the locations until the transaction closes.

Safeway is selling its stores on Old Dublin Pike, in Doylestown, Pa., West Germantown Pike, Norristown, Pa., and Ridge Pike, Conshohocken, Pa. 

The company, which operates 1681 stores in the U.S. and western Canada, reported annual sales of $41.1 billion in 2010.
