Sam’s Club to Offer Car Discounts

Sam’s Club (Bentonville, Ark.) has announced that it will offer members a car-buying program. The discount chain will allow members to receive discounts off the manufacturer’s suggested price on new vehicles and additional discounts on used cars.

Sam’s Club will not have vehicles onsite, but will offer savings through a partnership with TrueCar, Inc. (Santa Monica, Calif.). Members of Sam’s Club will have access to more than 10,000 TrueCar dealers across the country, which will honor the Sam’s Club discounts.

Fortune reports that the move is an attempt to rival perks offered Costco Wholesale Corp. (Issaquah, Wash.). Costco currently offers a partnership with around 3000 dealers across the country.
