Sears Closes Design Office

Sears Holdings Corp. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) has closed down its 45,000-square-foot Manhattan design office, affecting roughly 200 people, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

The design office, where much of the retailer’s private label apparel and accessories were developed, has been operating in SoHo for 10 years.

Sears and Kmart apparel design teams were integrated at the office.
