Sears to Revive Paint Department

Sears (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) announced yesterday that it will reintroduce its paint brands back into select stores. The company originally pulled its paint offerings from stores four years ago.

The store will offer paint under its Craftsman, Weatherbeater and Easy Living brands in 23 stores throughout the country along with other painting accessories. The new paint departments will also feature updated paint-mixing technology.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the company is reviving its paint department to take advantage of the surge the home-improvement business has been seeing lately due to the improving housing market. This will be the first time the store has offered paint under its Craftsman brand.
