Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake will open his first full-line freestanding store, to be called Elttob Tep, in Osaka, Japan, later this month.
According to a report by The Daily News Record on dnr.com, the name of the one-level, 4600-square-foot shop is PET Bottle spelled backward. (PET bottle means a plastic or polyethylene terephthalate bottle.) The name of the shop and its design were masterminded by Taku Satoh, who also co-directed a gallery 21_21 Design Sight with Miyake at a newly-developed commercial site called Tokyo Midtown.
Elittob Tep will offer the entire range of brands in the Issey Miyake stable, in addition to fragrance and watches. It will also introduce new designers outside of the Miyake family. For the first season, the store will feature Somarta, designed by Tamae Hirokawa, which enjoyed strong buzz at Japan Fashion Week in March.
