Sneaker Companies Kick Ye to the Curb

Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, continues to experience pushback from the antisemitic sentiments he’s posted on social media and stated elsewhere in recent weeks.

Such remarks caused footwear retailer Adidas to end its partnership with Ye and his fashion brand Yeezy on Tuesday.

Then, according to a variety of reports, the next day, he and a film crew were escorted from Skechers’ headquarters near Los Angeles, as they did not have approval to be there. (In the aftermath of that event, Skechers released a statement saying it had no current relationship with Ye, and did not plan to have one.)

Prior to all the above taking place, Ye last month terminated his contract with specialty apparel brand Gap over disagreements related to the retailer’s management of its Yeezy offerings.
