Nordstrom Inc. (Seattle) announced it will open a 27,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack store in the Oasis at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Fla., in fall 2003. The company's off-price retail division offers merchandise from Nordstrom and Nordstrom Direct, the retailer's catalog and online division, at up to 75 percent savings.

The Rack location will be the first in Florida and will join the state's largest mall, which features more than 300 name-brand outlet and off-price retail stores, two food courts, eight restaurants, a Regal 23 Cinema and GameWorks. It is 10 miles west of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The retailer also plans to open a fifth full-line Nordstrom store at the Mall at Wellington Green in Palm Beach County, Fla. in November 2003. Nordstrom operates 88 full-line stores, 48 Rack stores, 5 Faconnable boutiques, 1 free-standing shoe store and one clearance store.
