Switch at Dick’s

Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. (Pittsburgh) has announced that president and chief operating officer William Colombo will assume the role of vice chairman, effective Feb. 2, 2008, and step down from his current role. His responsibilities will be split between ceo Edward Stack, cfo Timothy Kullman and Joseph Schmidt, executive vp, operations.

Colombo joined the sporting goods chain in 1988, and became executive vp and chief operating officer in 1995. He had previously been president of dsports.com LLC, Dick’s Internet commerce subsidiary.
