Sycamore Partners Eyes JCPenney

Sycamore Partners (New York) is reportedly considering the acquisition of JCPenney (Plano, Texas), according to Retail Dive as well as several anonymous sources according to Reuters.

The firm is thought to be in preliminary talks with JCPenney in case the department store isn’t able to reach a reorganization deal with its lenders.

Sycamore Partners owns several retailers including Talbots and Belk.
