Target Shuttering 13 Stores

Target (Minneapolis) announced that it will be closing 13 stores on Jan. 30. The stores slated for closure include locations in Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin.

Employees at the affected stores will be eligible to transfer to nearby Target stores, reports Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

This news comes as Target closed 11 stores in the U.S. as well as 133 of its Canadian Target stores throughout 2015. The retailer opened 15 new Target stores in the U.S. this year, about half of which were small-format stores.
