Target Gets Competitive with Holiday Shipping

Target Corp. (Minneapolis) announced it will offer customers free shipping on online orders with no minimum purchase starting now. Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) has announced it will not offer customers free shipping for orders under $50.

Fortune reports that Target first implemented free holiday shipping last year in a costly move to win back shoppers after the 2013 data breach.

Walmart has decided to save money on the elimination of shipping fees by instead promising customers that it will now be beaten on prices. The company does offer customers the option of picking up online orders for free in stores.
