Target Opens Oahu, Maui Stores

Target Corp. (Minneapolis) opened its third store in Oahu, Hawaii, yesterday in the town of Kailua.

At 130,000 square feet, the unit is much smaller than typical Target stores. It also features goods from about 30 local Hawaii vendors in its Aloha Shop section.

“This store is going to feel more local, from the mosaics that depict Hawaiian culture by Leah K. Rigg, down to the products we have in the building,” store manager Drew Santos told Pacific Business News.

The company also opened its first Maui location yesterday, which will also sell local goods. These two most recent openings bring the number of Target stores in Hawaii to six.
