Target Opens Holiday Pop-Up Shop

Target Corp. (Minneapolis) has opened a temporary, 16,000-square-foot holiday space in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood to sell toys and test merchandise ideas.

The pop-up shop includes 10 holiday-themed displays, each inspired by a popular holiday toy that Target is selling in the space. For instance, one of the displays includes a life-size version of a Lego pirate ship, featured in one of its holiday commercials this year. Another lets customers test-drive drones or race miniature cars around a peppermint-patterned racetrack.

The displays are interactive with customers and include digital elements, such as a giant Etch-A-Sketch, on which customers can have their photographs superimposed to then share on social media.

The pop-up space, dubbed “Wonderland,” will be open free to the public for two weeks starting today, reports the Star Tribune.
