Target to Preempt Prime Day with July Sales Event

For the second year in a row, Target (Minneapolis) is launching its online July sales event one day before Amazon’s Prime Day.

The retailer will hold its “Target Deal Days” from July 11-13, offering discounts exclusively on its website and app. In its announcement about the three-day event, Target made a point of noting that shoppers could find savings in a variety of categories with “no membership fee required” – a reference to Amazon’s annual Prime Day event, the deals of which are exclusive to Prime members.

Here’s a rundown of what Target says are its top deals during the event:

  • Spend $50 on food and beverage, get $10 Target GiftCard with same-day services
  • Save up to $70 on Apple products
  • Up to 50% off select top tech and headphones
  • 25% off beauty
  • Up to 30% off home items
  • 50% off select apparel and accessories for the family
  • Up to 50% off hundreds of toys
  • Up to 40% off kitchen appliances
  • Up to 35% off floor care products

In the same announcement, Target plugged its same-day pickup services, saying it has made recent investments to create additional backroom hold space and pickup areas in stores, plus more pickup parking spots.
