Tata Starbucks Ltd. Announces First Store, Ceo

Tata Starbucks Ltd., a joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Co. (Seattle) and Tata Global Beverages Ltd. (Kolkata, India), is announcing its first store, which will open in Mumbai this month, and the appointment of Avani Saglani Davda as ceo.

Tata Starbucks Ltd. will own and operate Starbucks cafés in India. The store will feature espresso sourced and roasted locally from India.

“This is the first step Starbucks and Tata Coffee Limited are taking toward developing and improving the profile of Indian-grown Arabica coffees around the world,” says John Culver, president, Starbucks China and Asia Pacific.

Davda, a 10-year Tata employee, most recently helped develop the joint venture between Starbucks and the Asian coffee and tea giant in her marketing and business development role within the vice chairman’s office.
