Alain Lorenzo, currently ceo of eLUXURY.com, an LVMH web site, has been chosen to head the new LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton joint venture in diamond retail with DeBeers. Lorenzo had previously been ceo of Parfums Givenchy and a 12-year sales and marketing veteran with Procter & Gamble in Europe.

The two parties – LVMH, the luxury brand and retailer, and DeBeers, the world's leading diamond miner – had earlier announced plans to invest $200 million each in a venture to open a small number of stores in world fashion capitals over the next 12-18 months.
