Ulta Beauty (Bolingbrook, Ill.) CEO Dave Kimbell says the retailer will introduce a new layout in select stores this fall.
He announced the plan in the company’s second quarter earnings call with analysts, Retail Dive writes.
Kimbell said the new layout will “unify the presentation of skincare and makeup” and include a new beauty bar at the center of the store. The front of the store will be revamped to support more editorial storytelling related to new products, trends and events.
Ulta’s current layout, the article explains, is organized by price point, separating prestige makeup and skincare from mass makeup and skincare. The goal now is to consolidate categories so stores “better reflect how a guest really shops,” COO Kecia Steelman said on the call.
The beauty chain turned in a strong second quarter, boosting net sales by 16.8% to $2.3 billion and increasing its net income by 18%.
