Uniqlo May Leave US

Fast Retailing (Yamaguchi, Japan), Uniqlo’s (Tokyo) parent company, said the retailer would likely leave the U.S. if President Trump's Border Adjustment Tax (BAT) passes.

"We would not be able to make really good products [in the U.S.] at costs that are beneficial to customers. It would become meaningless to do business in the U.S.” says Tadashi Yanai, head of Fast Retailing, according to Forbes.

Uniqlo currently has 50 U.S. stores and was planning to expand by an additional 30 locations.
