Urban Outfitters Says “I Do” to New Concept

Urban Outfitters (Philadelphia) will introduce a new bridal themed store concept in 2011 that focuses on wedding gowns, intimate attire, special occasion gifts and related items. No name has been revealed but the company plans to launch a website on Valentine’s Day 2011 followed by stores.

The company is also planning to launch the first store this year for its Leifsdottir wholesale clothing label. That women’s line is sold in 65 specialty and department stores across the country.

Urban Outfitters reported a strong fourth quarter, with same-store sales rising 4 percent. Among its brands, Anthropologie’s comparative store sales grew 10 percent for the quarter, and the 34-unit Free People chain saw its increase 11 percent. Same-store sales at the company’s namesake chain were flat.
