Valentino Opens in New York

Valentino’s (Milan) largest U.S. flagship opened Friday on Fifth Avenue in New York. The three-level, 20,000-square-foot store markets the designer's men’s and women’s luxury apparel and accessories.

The store was designed by David Chipperfield Architects (London). The construction, which began last October, included 650 tons of Italian marble, according to The Wall Street Journal . The building's facade features “thin vertical bars up to the eighth floor and with the Valentino logo integrated into the facade.” Valentino paid for the construction, but declined to comment on the cost of the new flagship.
