Vanity Closing All Stores

Vanity (Fargo, N.D.) is closing all 137 of its clothing stores after having filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The retailer filed for bankruptcy last week.

The retailer has stores in 27 states, which will begin to be liquidated by Tiger Capital Group (New York). Tiger’s COO Michael McGrail said, "The company's difficult decision to close all stores is emblematic of the pressures facing mall-based specialty apparel retailers in the wake of ever-increasing competition from big-box 'fast-fashion' chains and e-commerce sites."

The retailer has not yet specified the final date that its stores will close, reports Springfield News-Leader.

Vanity did not indicate a specific date when its stores will close.
