Walmart Appoints Ceo for China Division

Walmart Stores Inc. (Bentonville, Ark.) named Greg Foran, currently senior vp for Walmart Intl., as president and ceo of Walmart China, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

The former ceo and senior vp for human resources of the China division resigned in October in the wake of a food-labeling scandal.

Foran’s career at Walmart began in October 2011. Prior to that, he worked for Woolworths Supermarket Division in New Zealand and Australia.

Since entering the Chinese market and opening its first Supercenter and Sam’s Club in Shenzhen in 1996, Walmart’s presence in the country has grown to more than 370 units in 140 cities.
