Walmart to Offer Smartphone Payment in Stores

Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) announced that it will soon allow customers to pay in stores with their smartphones. The company will utilize its own mobile wallet system called Walmart Pay, which will be integrated into the Walmart app.

Retailing Today reports that Walmart Pay will be available on Android and iOS devices and will work with all major credit, debit and pre-paid cards, as well as Walmart gift cards.

The new program will roll out to all stores next year.
