Wawa Opens New Flagship

Wawa (Media, Penn.) opened a new flagship location in Philadelphia’s Center City. This is the first new store for the company to open in this area of the city in about three decades, and it opened two months ahead of schedule.

The store is located in what used to be a luggage store and is the company’s first location to offer indoor seating. It features upscale materials like custom cabinetry, countertops and lighting. Nine digital screens are also positioned throughout the store to showcase options such as the deli menu.

The company plans to use the new store as a test location to see how customers respond to some of the new elements, such as the indoor seating. It also plans to launch a juicing station and make-to-order salad options, reports Philadelphia magazine.
