Winn-Dixie Rolls Out New Store Designs

Winn-Dixie (Jacksonville, Fla.) has opened a new store in Tampa, Fla., that features one of five new store designs that the retailer is rolling out as part of its efforts to overhaul its image and attract new customers. This location is only the chain’s second to feature this new design.

The new store features higher ceilings to make the store seem larger and a more modernized aesthetic with pops of color contrasted by white accents. It also focuses on organic, locally sourced and prepared products and features an expanded craft beer and wine section. All of these decisions were made as a result of demographics research the company conducted of local shoppers, which also informed each of the new redesigns.

Some of the other redesigns include closing pharmacies or seafood counters or expanding other sections, such as the meat or deli counters, reports the Tampa Bay Times.
