Workers Fight Back in Attempted Jewelry Store Robbery in California

Workers fought back during an attempted robbery at a jewelry store in El Monte, CA.

A man with a hammer entered Meza’s Jewelry on Saturday afternoon, KABC-TV reports. He reportedly smashed a glass case and used pepper spray on staff members.

The workers, who are family members, hit and kicked the suspect and struck him with a stick.

The suspect ran away without any merchandise, according to the report.
