MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Bergmeyer Associates Inc. (Boston) expanded its staff with the following designers and project managers: Brian Perlow, Anthony Defeo, Heidi Cron, James Sullivan, Krists Karklins, Christyn Sheriff MacDougall, Alysha Dohallow, Josh Lacasse, Colin Whalen, Michal DelleFave, Laura Nichols, Jacob Simanowitz, Marc Steinhagen, Dan Ricardelli, Tyler Thompson, Megan Healy, Sherry Haddow, John Noonan, Alberto Medina-Florez, Samantha Goodman, Krista Iannoni and Robin Hudson. Fixturing manufacturer Southern Imperial Inc. (Rockford, Ill.) hired Dale Carroll as director of operations and Brent Ewing as director of engineering. Both will work at the company’s Rockford facility.

STORE OPENINGS

Big and tall apparel brand Casual Male Retail Group Inc. (Canton, Mass.) opened a DestinationXL at the Shops at Stonebriar in Frisco, Texas. The company plans to open up to 10 DXL stores by the end of the year and 20 to 30 stores in 2012, for a total of about 100 stores during the next five years..

Footwear and accessories retailer DSW Inc. (Columbus, Ohio) opened a store at the Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo, Calif. DSW operates 327 stores in 40 states.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

Winners of the 2011 Canadian Shopping Centre Awards, presented by The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), include: Toronto-based Bayview Village Shopping Centre, 2011 Maple Leaf Gold Award in the design and development category of renovation or expansion of an existing project; Calgary, Alberta-based International Currency Exchange (ICE), Maple Leaf Gold Award in the retail store design category; Burlington, Ontario-based Mercedes-Benz Burlington, Maple Leaf Gold Award in the retail store design category; and Toronto-based Pusateri’s, Maple Leaf Gold Award in the retail store design category.

YCD Multimedia (New York), provider of digital media systems, acquired C-nario (Tel Aviv, Israel), a digital signage software solutions and applications company.

ZenGenius Visual Merchants (Columbus, Ohio), a creative services company specializing in retail display, event decor and creative design, opened a New York office called ZG NY. The office is located at 122 W. 27th St., 10th floor.
