72 More Malls Will Close on Thanksgiving Day

Mall developer CBL & Associates (Chattanooga, Tenn.) announced that it will be closing 72 of its malls on Thanksgiving Day this year. This is a change from last year when the developer’s malls opened at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Still, individual stores with outside entrances can open if they choose to do so. This would mainly include department stores, movie theaters and restaurants with exterior entries that they can open to the public, reports Fortune.

This comes as the Mall of America recently announced that it would be closing on Thanksgiving. The country’s two largest mall developers, Simon Property Group (Indianapolis) and General Growth Properties (Chicago), have not announced whether their malls will be open on the holiday.
