A Girl’s Best Friend

Ivanka Trump wants to make it clear she’s not a party girl like several of her celebutante counterparts. The Donald’s daughter isn’t finding religion after a short stint in the slammer, going to rehab or taking a televised tour of Rwanda. Instead, she’s launched a business – a jewelry company where she’s more than a celebrity name slapped on a wall.

“Ivanka is committed to this brand in its entirety,” says Adrienne Kudelka, vp of operations at the heiress’s new jewelry enterprise. “She has infused her knowledge of construction and her personal style into every stage of planning and execution of the design.”

The 800-square-foot Ivanka Trump boutique on New York’s Madison Avenue represents Trump’s style and youthful elegance with touches of lush fabric, dramatic furniture and glamorous hues. Her jewels span the styles of the roaring ‘20s to the swinging ‘60s, so the interior needed that element of tradition, but with a modern twist.

Designed in collaboration with Kramer Design Group (New York) and Shawmut Design and Construction (New York), the boutique serves the young, independent woman who buys baubles for herself – a frame of mind that befalls Trump’s endeavors as vp of real estate development and acquisitions at her father’s Trump Organization (New York).

Designers took traditional details, such as Louis XV chairs and an étagère (designed by Kramer), and gave them a youthful edge with bold patterns and high-gloss lacquer. Mirrored walls with swaths of silk curtains and a boudoir area surrounded by tufted silk walls and crystal sconces play into that vintage Hollywood-style glamour.
