A New Spirit Guide

Esprit de Corp. (San Francisco) has named Bill Lampl president of itsEsprit Apparel division, effective October 1. Lampl replaces CathyVolker, who is leaving to pursue a new opportunity in the legwearindustry. However, he will also remain president of Esprit BrandsLicensing, his current position.

Lampl manages Esprit's Domestic Licensing, oversees daily operations anddevelops creative marketing programs for all of the company's domesticretailers and licensees. In 1994, he joined the company as vp ofEsprit's Dr. Seuss division. Shortly after, he became president of thesame division, handling sales, production, design and marketing.

Founded in 1968, Esprit is a worldwide apparel retailer, designing,producing and distributing products such as women's sportswear,childrenswear, footwear, accessories and Dr. Seuss merchandise. Thecompany also offers licensed products including swimwear, sleepwear,outerwear, eyewear and home products. Esprit brand products areavailable in 44 countries, in department stores, specialty stores andthe 520-plus Esprit owned and operated stores.
