A Slurpee Eye Shadow, Please

The ranks of retailers selling profitable private label cosmetics has been joined by an unexpected new entrant. Dallas-based 7-Eleven, purveyor of Slurpees, corn dogs and inexpensive convenience store items, will add its own private label of cosmetics, titled Heart and Soul, beginning next month in its more than 200 New York metropolitan-area stores. The chain already has a line of accessories – rings, bracelets and key chains – that it introduced into its stores earlier this year, aimed at teen-age girls. And it sells its own line of hosiery, called Heaven Sent.
