Now Managing Penney's Supply Chain

JCPenney (Plano, Texas) has announced the appointment of Timothy Troy as senior vp and director of supply chain management, effective September 13. Troy will report to Vanessa Castagna, executive vp and coo of JCPenney Stores, Merchandising, Catalog.

In his new position, he will direct the total series of processes that define the supply chain, including the management of product and information flow from supplier to store delivery and responsibility for all supply chain operations. His duties will put him in close cooperation and coordination with Merchandising, Stores, Catalog, and Internet, where he will supervise the operations of Dennis Radabaugh, divisional vp and director of logistics.

Troy comes to Penney's from Petsmart, Inc., where he was senior vp of store operations and logistics. He had previously been executive vp of logistics at TruServe, a $5 billion global cooperative. From 1989 to 1998, Troy worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co., moving up to vp of Full Line Stores/Import Logistics. He has also worked, in buying and merchandise replenishment, with Target, Volume Shoe Corp and several nationally recognized department stores.
