Ala Moana Center Expands

Honolulu’s Ala Moana Center, owned by General Growth Properties (Chicago), is nearing completion on a $700 million renovation and expansion. The 2.2 million-square-foot mall has added more than 300,000 square feet to its profile and will offer a mixed-use space for retail, entertainment and living.

Women’s Wear Daily reports the mall’s redesign has attracted key tenants as anchors, such as Neiman Marcus (Dallas) and Bloomingdales (New York).

The center is also adding around 200 private residences that will overlook the ocean and will offer a fitness center, a spa, an art walk and security.
