Amazon to Open Physical Store

Amazon Inc. (Seattle) will open its first brick-and-mortar store in New York in time for the holiday shopping season, according to The Wall Street Journal. The Midtown site at 7 West 34th St., near Macy’s and the Empire State Building, would serve as a small warehouse and carry limited inventory for same-day delivery in New York.

Analysts say the store is designed to help market the Amazon brand and to showcase its proprietary products, including its Kindle devices.
