American Eagle Expands in South America

American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (Pittsburgh) has inked a deal that will allow the company to expand into Chile and Peru.

The company has signed a license agreement with Eurofashion Limitada, according to Women’s Wear Daily, and the first stores in Chile are expected to open the third quarter of 2015 and in Peru in early 2016. Offerings will include the American Eagle brand and Aerie assortments.

“We believe our heritage of casual American style will resonate strongly in these dynamic markets,” said Simon Nankervis, executive vp for global commercial business.
