Ann Taylor Online

Ann Taylor Stores Inc. (New York) announced Tuesday that it has boldly gone where so many bricks-and-mortar retailers are heading – online. The company's first outside sales channel, anntaylor.com, offers a variety of the store's upscale apparel.

Digitas Inc. (Boston), creators of online facets for Neiman Marcus and L.L. Bean, produced the web site, which features a “wardrobing” room where visitors can mix and match clothing, an interactive wardrobe adviser and a Quick Shop function for purchasing products found in mailings or print ads.

The site's launch occurs in time for online holiday shoppers, along with web site relaunches by major retailers like Target.com, BestBuy.com, Wal-Mart.com and VictoriasSecret.com.
