MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Guess Inc. (Los Angeles) appointed Chet Kuchinad as chief people officer and Amber Tarshis as senior vp, marketing. In his position, Kuchinad will lead all aspects of the company's people strategy with particular focus on talent, engagement, employment branding, strategic rewards, along with organizational and leadership development. Tarshis will handle marketing, including retail marketing, consumer relationship management, special events and social media.

Costa Mesa, Calif.-based ACS Architectural Construction Services Inc. has hired Jeff Mathews and Byung Yoon to its Atlanta office. Mathews, who most recently was divisional vp, store planning, at Macy's Inc., will serve as director of store planning. As project architect, Yoon will be responsible for managing the company’s department store initiatives in the Atlanta office.

Halco Lighting Technologies (Norcross, Ga.) named Kim Cook president. She will also retain her current title as chief operating officer, which she has held since 2005.

Frank Mayer and Associates Inc. (Grafton, Wis.) appointed Ryan Lepianka as creative director, replacing Alan McGivern who retired. A graduate of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Lepianka will handle the design, model shop and engineering departments.

InteliCoat Technologies (South Hadley, Mass.), a supplier of coated paper, film and specialty substrates for digital imaging applications, hired Tom Shea as Northeast regional sales manager.

South Deerfield, Mass.-based The Yankee Candle Company Inc. named Frank Bifulco Jr. to the company's board of directors. Bifulco is a former senior vp and chief marketing officer of The Home Depot.

STORE OPENINGS

AT&T (Dallas) opened a new, larger high-tech wireless store in the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst, N.Y. The store expansion augments the company’s growing portfolio of bilingual retail locations in the metro New York area.

Sprint (Overland Park, Kan.) opened the doors to a new Sprint retail store in Atlanta, at 855 Peachtree St.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

New York-based Bernstein Display has opened Shanghai Bernstein Display Product Co. Ltd., a wholly owned foreign enterprise of Leo D. Bernstein and Sons Inc. The new business is located in Shanghai, China, and will be led by Mark Owen, general manager.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers, a national owner, operator and developer of grocery-anchored and community shopping centers, will begin construction of East Washington Place, a 378,000-square-foot community center in Petaluma, Calif. The shopping center will be anchored by Target.

White House | Black Market (Fort Myers, Fla.) will open an outlet boutique at Legends Outlets Kansas City in May. The 2955-square-foot location will be next to Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH.
