Leon Max Opens First European Store

The opening of the first Leon Max boutique in London marks the California-based company’s first shop in Europe. The 3,000-square-foot store will offer the Leon Max Collection as well as the MaxStudio.com line.

Leon Max, the company’s founder and creative director, told Vogue, “I now spend half the year in England and would like to have a laboratory in which to test some of my offerings nearby. I hope most of what we do will appeal to a British market — we try to cover dressing for most occasions in women's lives.”

Max hopes the store is just the beginning of his company’s expansion into Europe, which he began actively working toward in 2005 with the purchase of an estate in Northamptonshire, England.
