Barnes & Noble Experiments with New Format

Barnes & Noble Inc. (New York) will open its first store with a bar-restaurant in Westchester County, N.Y., this October. The store will serve wine and beer as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The new concept store will also feature a bocce court and outdoor fire pit, reports the New York Business Journal.

The chain, which operates 640 stores, announced three other stores in Edina, Minnesota, Folsom, California and Loudon, Virginia, will also feature a bar-restaurant service.
