Barneys Unveils Beverly Hills Remodel

Barneys New York (New York) has unveiled the latest phase of its Beverly Hills flagship redesign, the main floor and the men’s (fifth) floor. The 125,000-squre-foot flagship now includes the brand’s first West Coast Freds restaurant. Barneys’ remodeling of the Beverly Hills store has taken place floor-by-floor, beginning with last year’s relocation of cosmetics to the lower level, allowing for the expansion of the accessories, handbag and shoe and departments on the main floor.

Barneys’ Beverly Hills location is unique for its dramatic, grand Regency-style marble staircase that spans all six levels of the store. The redesign retains the store’s skylight and numerous windows. Steven Harris Architects (New York) also kept the space’s original gray and white marble floor and added luxurious metal and marble finishes. Architectural dividers have replaced some of the walls, keeping product at the forefront, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Barneys’ other Southern California locations, like The Grove, Americana and Santa Monica Place shopping centers, have also been remodeled in the brand’s new gray, white and metal design.
