Barneys Unveils Part of New Redesign

Barneys New York is unveiling part of its Madison Avenue flagship redesign this weekend, reports Women’s Wear Daily. Part of the section of the main floor will showcase new gray marble floors, American oak fixtures, new lighting and ceiling details.

Additional work will be uncovered next month before construction is temporarily halted during the holiday season. The new cafe, called Genes@coop, in honor of Gene Pressman, Barneys’ former ceo, will be unveiled in October.

Toronto-based Yabu Pushelberg is collaborating on the store’s redesign.
