Big Lots CEO To Speak On Behalf of PAVE

Michael Potter, ceo of Big Lots (Columbus, Ohio), the nation's largest broadline closeout retailer, will be a featured speaker at GlobalShop in Chicago on Friday, April 19, 2002, at 8 a.m. The proceeds from the event will go to the Planning and Visual Education Committee (PAVE).

The presentation is an annual GlobalShop event sponsored by PAVE.

Big Lots has recently committed itself to a multi-million dollar re-branding campaign, including television advertising and an upgrading store renovation program.

Potter, who joined Big Lots in 1991, has been chairman and ceo since August 2000. His 18 years of retailing experience include previous stints with Meier & Frank Department Stores, May Co. Department Stores and The Limited.
