Big Lots Names Head of Store Operations

Big Lots Inc. (Columbus, Ohio) has named Christopher Chapin senior vp of store operations. The closeout retailer said Chapin will oversee store standards, field operations, customer service, process development and program implementation for its more than 1300 stores, reporting to ceo Steve Fishman.

Chapin was most recently president of FacilitySource (Secaucus, N.J.), a worldwide retail facility maintenance and management business. Previously, he was vp, store operations, with Limited Brands Inc. (Columbus) and national director of operations at Yum Brands Inc. (Louisville, Ky.), where he oversaw the expansion of Taco Bell's multi-brand concepts integrating with Pizza Hut and KFC locations.

“We are excited to welcome Chris Chapin to the Big Lots team,” said Fishman. “[He] not only understands the challenges of a large-scale retail enterprise but also brings a wealth of branded business expertise to Big Lots.”
