Big Lots Plans New Headquarters

Discount retail chain Big Lots (Columbus, Ohio) is planning to move its corporate headquarters across town. The company will build its new location to combat space issues.

The Columbus Dispatch reports the new site will be 300,000 square feet. The current headquarters measures 175,000 square feet and was built more than 50 years ago.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for October, and the 800 employees currently working at the company’s headquarters are expected to move into the new building by 2018.
